The chapter 5 begins with an introduction to data handling by stating some real-life examples to emphasize the importance of data and the significance of pictorial representation of data.The next section of the chapter deals with the organisation of data and explains concepts such as frequency and frequency distribution table.Grouping data is dealt in the next section and terms such as class interval , lower class limit, upper class limit and width of the interval are covered in detail.Bars with a difference (Histogram) is explained in the subsequent section.Circle Graph or Pie Chart and representation of data using the same are dealt in the next section.Chance and probability is introduced after graphical data handling techniques.Terms such as random experiment, equally likely and the formula for determining the probability of an event is discussed in the last section.
