The chapter 11 begins with an introduction to Perimeter and Area by recollecting the concepts and formulae related to squares and rectangles.Then, the concept of viewing triangles as parts of rectangles is presented and a formula is deduced for the same.This concept is generalised for other congruent parts of the rectangle.
