Quadratic Equations - NCERT Class 10 Maths

Go back to  'Class 10 Maths Solutions'

As part of the introduction, the chapter 4 presents the standard form of a quadratic equation - ax2 + bx + c = 0. Next, through some examples, students are taught how to convert real-life situations into quadratic equations. Following this, multiple examples are provided so that students can get a better grasp of the concept. For the second exercise, the chapter covers the factorisation method for solving quadratic equations. It is noted that that the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial ax2 + bx + c and the roots of the quadratic equation ax2 + bx + c = 0 are the same. For the next exercise, the method of completing the square for solving quadratic equations is presented. Finally, the quadratic formula is presented.
